David met the lovely, Renee (Mitchell) Mackie in the early 80s. They married and committed their lives to each other in 1983. From this union they were blessed with two sons, Darius and Derrick Mackie. Deacon Mackie also enjoys the strategies of a good golf game and analytics of bowling. He has had a vast career in transportation for more than 30 years and continues to drive up the ranks of achievement.

In 2014 David & Renee became a part of the Central Pointe Church of Christ family and committed themselves to serve and praise the Lord. Within a short period of time, Deacon Mackie began to work with the young men of the Pointe and was asked to spearhead the Boys2Men Life Group.

The Boys2Men Life Group is designed to teach young men how to serve others, work during worship service, live a Christian life, be leaders to their peers, and represent GOD at all times.

David strives to always give himself fully to the work of the Lord, because he knows that his labor in the Lord is not in vain.
